Dime Store Philosophy: Birthday Edition
Another birthday has arrived, and as I get older, I find myself telling my children the same thing:
Trust the work.
Not your feelings. Not your luck. Not the opinions of people who haven't accomplished anything but somehow have detailed instructions for your life.

Birthdays have a funny way of making people take inventory. You start looking at what you've accomplished, what you haven't, and wondering why your knees make sounds that weren't there ten years ago.
But life isn't measured by birthdays. It's measured by what you do between them
.
The work.
The days nobody applauded. The goals nobody saw. The sacrifices nobody thanked you for.
That's where the real story is.
Because the truth is, most success shows up late. Sometimes so late you almost stop believing it's coming.
And if hard work guaranteed instant results, we'd all be driving luxury cars and every parent would have a vacation home.
Instead, most of us are just trying to remember passwords and figure out why we walked into the kitchen.
So on this birthday, I'm grateful for another trip around the sun, a few more gray hairs, and enough life experience to know this:
Trust the work.
The candles get older. The body gets louder. The patience gets shorter.
But the work still works.
And if you're lucky, one day you'll look back and realize the things you were building were building you too.
So Happy Birthday to me. I trusted the work. The warranty on the body, however, appears to have expired. 🎂😂
